A couple of bugs spotted in the Beta version (1.4.1.24) have now been corrected, and DatMapR has now been re-released as a (long awaited!) 'live' version 1.4.2.26.

The main change is to add an option to allow 'clickable' shadows' to be omitted from KMZ Exports when 'gridded' data is exported as 'Ground Overlays'.  One user, exporting data for the whole UK, found that the number of 'KML Elements' was causing problems.  This change allows the number to be reduced. 

DatMapR’s KMZ Exports were originally tested using Google Earth and should have been usable in Google Maps, which can process KMZ files read from the web.  Sadly, not so!  Do read on, there is a 'work round'.

A second Beta Test of version 1.4 of DatMapR has just been made available on the web-site Downloads page.  To avoid any confusion, I have incremeted the 'Bug' version as well as the Build number - so this is version 1.4.1 Build 24.

Version 1.4 of DatMapR has now been released as a Beta test version, and is available from the Downloads page of the web-site - it has been tested (and it works), but it would be good to put it through its paces before calling it truly Live!

This adds a facility to Export to a KMZ File, KMZ files being compressed files that will open automatically in Google Earth (assuming it is installed).
